Carowinds debuts new roller coaster: Check it out here

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Carowinds debuted its newest roller coaster this week.

Snoopy’s Racing Railway, a family launch coaster, officially opened on Monday, June 2.

The ride takes parkgoers through “giggle-inducing” twists and turns, launching riders from zero to 31 mph within seconds. It goes through two laps per cycle and accommodates 14 riders.

“From the rider experience to the imaginative theming, Snoopy’s Racing Railway showcases our commitment to bringing world-class family entertainment to the Carolinas,” said Brian Oerding, park manager.

The coaster is the third in Camp Snoopy and the park’s 14th overall.

Snoopy’s Racing Railway isn’t the only thing coming to Camp Snoopy this season.

Park officials said Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast, an interactive water ride, will debut later this summer.

There’s new fun for the adults, too!

Just weeks ago, Carowinds opened the Carolina Harbor Shore Club, an adults-only waterpark section.
